F.A.Q.s
Do you guarantee your plants?
As a grower we can guarantee that the plants are healthy when they leave the nursery.
Plants are living things and there are too many factors beyond our control once they
leave our site. But given adequate care we are confident that they will thrive.
When is the best time to plant?
Anytime there is adequate moisture available and also a suitable location, planting can
be done year-round. This applies only to zone hardy plants.
Is it okay to plant in the summer?
Yes, as long as there is sufficient water available.
How late in the fall can I plant?
Fall is a great time to plant. As long as you are comfortable outside digging holes and
watering as needed you can plant all year long.
How much water do my plants need?
Each plant has different watering needs. Unfortunately, there is not enough research
on every variety to know exactly how much water is required. Too much water in some
cases is worse than too little. Some plants enjoy wet, soggy conditions, while others
like to be hot and dry. Most plants will show signs of stress by looking droopy or
shedding leaves, etc.
In general, deep, periodic watering will help to establish the plants, which will enable
them to survive longer periods without water. Also, checking the moisture of the soil a
few inches down will serve as a guideline to know when it is time to water. Generally,
if it is dry then it is time to water.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver to an approximately 40 mile radius, which includes Lake Wenatchee,
Lake Chelan, and the Greater Wenatchee Valley. In some instances we may travel
further. We have a fee schedule based on distance, which is available at the nursery.
Do you have volume discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts based on dollar volume, so you can mix and match varieties
and still save.
If I have a business license can I buy wholesale?
We only sell wholesale to businesses in the nursery trade, which includes landscape
contractors, garden centers, and other nurseries. The real benefit of the business
license, for those who qualify, is tax exemption. For new customers we encourage,
not require, minimum purchases to establish their credentials.
When are your blueberries ripe?
Typically, we find that the early varieties start ripening mid to late June and last 4 to 6
weeks. Usually, we open the field for U-pick by July 4th.
What zone are we?
Currently, the United States Department of Agriculture is evaluating rezoning the entire
country. As of this writing, we consider ourselves to be USDA Zone 5. For those of you
who prefer the Sunset Western Garden system, we are zoned around 3.
Do you sell Jackson & Perkins roses?
Yes, we carry a wide variety of their roses. We also have exclusive varieties that are
not available through their website or catalog.
